GAC Motor Selects Spirent Solutions for Automotive Ethernet Conformance Testing

Spirent
Communications plc
(LSE:SPT), a leading provider of connected car
and automotive Ethernet test solutions, today announced that GAC
Motor Company
(GAC Motor), an affiliate of Guangzhou
Automobile Group Co., Ltd (GAC Group)
, a Fortune 500 company and one
of the largest Chinese OEMs, has selected Spirent automotive test
solutions to verify next-generation in-vehicle networking for its
automobiles.

Automotive Ethernet networking is being adopted by automotive OEMs
around the world. With GAC Motor’s commitment to delivering new in-car
capabilities and to meet the high expectations of its customers,
choosing Spirent’s test system with C50 Appliance and TTworkbench
automation tool, was a logical step to help develop and verify its
automotive Ethernet systems and determine the best Ethernet designs for
its vehicles.

Spirent solutions help verify the Ethernet ECUs conformance with OPEN
Alliance TC8 test cases, as well as the latest time-sensitive networking
(TSN) protocols. For this task, Spirent offers the full-featured
integrated test development and execution environment, Spirent
TTworkbench, which can be used for any kind of test automation project.
Combined with the Spirent C50 Appliance, TTworkbench offers a variety of
functions including DUT monitoring and simulation. It includes support
for all of the international standard test cases, including the OPEN
Alliance TC8 test suites and IEEE 802.1 TSN protocols — features
critical for GAC Motor.

“Spirent TTworkbench and its easy-to-use test environment will help GAC
Motor verify that the in-car Ethernet networks are robust enough to
support TSN and the advanced applications in connected cars,” said
Thomas Schulze, Director of Marketing and Business Development for
Spirent’s automotive business. “As vehicles become more connected and
autonomous, Spirent is enabling automotive vendors to easily verify
their devices in different phases of design and validation, making the
path to certification even easier.”

Using serverless computing has a number of obvious benefits over traditional application infrastructure – you pay only for what you use, scale up or down immediately to match supply with demand, and avoid operating any server infrastructure at all.
However, implementing maintainable and scalable applications using serverless computing services like AWS Lambda poses a number of challenges. The absence of long-lived, user-managed servers means that states cannot be maintained by the service. Lo…

Kubernetes is a new and revolutionary open-sourced system for managing containers across multiple hosts in a cluster. Ansible is a simple IT automation tool for just about any requirement for reproducible environments.
In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 18th Cloud Expo, Patrick Galbraith, a principal engineer at HPE, will discuss how to build a fully functional Kubernetes cluster on a number of virtual machines or bare-metal hosts. Also included will be a brief demonstration of running a Galer…

With digital video content creation going viral and assuming the bulk of Internet traffic, how can the deluge of video content be analyzed effectively to derive insights and ROI? After all, video is not only huge in size, but it is complex given various visual, audio and temporal elements. Video summarization (a mechanism for generating a short video summary via key frame analysis or video skimming) has become a popular research topic industry-wide and across academia. Video thumbnail generation…

At CloudEXPO Silicon Valley, June 24-26, 2019, Digital Transformation (DX) is a major focus with expanded DevOpsSUMMIT and FinTechEXPO programs within the DXWorldEXPO agenda. Successful transformation requires a laser focus on being data-driven and on using all the tools available that enable transformation if they plan to survive over the long term. A total of 88% of Fortune 500 companies from a generation ago are now out of business. Only 12% still survive. Similar percentages are found throug…

Today’s workforce is trading their cubicles and corporate desktops in favor of an any-location, any-device work style. And as digital natives make up more and more of the modern workforce, the appetite for user-friendly, cloud-based services grows. The center of work is shifting to the user and to the cloud. But managing a proliferation of SaaS, web, and mobile apps running on any number of clouds and devices is unwieldy and increases security risks. Steve Wilson, Citrix Vice President of Cloud,…

Signs of a shift in the usage of public clouds are everywhere. Previously, as organizations outgrew old IT methods, the natural answer was to try the public cloud approach; however, the public platform alone is not a complete solution. Complaints include unpredictable/escalating costs and mounting security concerns in the public cloud. Ultimately, public cloud adoption can ultimately mean a shift of IT pains instead of a resolution.
That’s why the move to hybrid, custom, and multi-cloud will …

When Enterprises started adopting Hadoop-based Big Data environments over the last ten years, they were mainly on-premise deployments. Organizations would spin up and manage large Hadoop clusters, where they would funnel exabytes or petabytes of unstructured data. However, over the last few years the economics of maintaining this enormous infrastructure compared with the elastic scalability of viable cloud options has changed this equation.
The growth of cloud storage, cloud-managed big data e…

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks. We’re in the midst of a wave of excitement around AI such as hasn’t been seen for a few decades. But those previous periods of inflated expectations led to troughs of disappointment. This time is (mostly) different. Applications of AI such as predictive analytics are already decreasing costs and improving reliability of industrial machinery. Pattern recognition can equal or exceed the ability of human experts in some domains. It’s devel…
